What's It All About?
As adults, we are responsible for laying the foundation for our children's development. This includes giving them the opportunity to fully develop their minds and emotions. Over the past few decades, scientists have been giving more attention and recognition to the inter-relatedness between the body/mind and emotions. As a result, we have a much better understanding how the body/mind is "wired", electromagnetically.

Making the Brain/Body Connection
Successful brain functioning requires proper transmission of information across the neural pathways located throughout the brain. Stress, habitual negative thought and emotions limit the brains ability to transmit information. When a person undergoes stress, the brain blocks the transmission of certain nuerons and goes into what is referred to as "fight or flight" syndrome. This basically means the functions within certain parts of the brain are SWITCHED OFF. Through simple exercises, the brain can be taught to re-activate or re-balance its functions easily. Some movements encourage left and right brain integration, logical/linear and spacial/synthesis, while others help balance the front and back brain, facilitating greater comprehension and focus. There are even techniques that can assist in balancing the energy flow throughout the body through the meridian or energy system.

Ancient Practices & New Sciences
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) dates back more than 2,000 years. TCM indicates that the body has many energetic channels called meridians in which the life force energy is directed. Although there are many energy pathways, typically there are twelve that are considered the main passages. Each governs specific internal organs (thus are referred to as the heart, spleen, stomach, gall bladder, kidney, small and large intestine meridians) and in turn, each organ and meridian govern specific emotions (hurt, sadness, anger, guilt, arrogance etc). The human body acts as our hard drive, storing all perceived experiences in our cellular memory. When the body becomes unbalanced, a disruption occurs in the body’s energy system. In the past decade many methods have been developed in the western world that utilize the human energy system to restore emotional and psychological well being. This "new technology" as you see, is not new at all. It is deeply rooted in the ancient healing arts, where holistic care and integrative practices were founded.

Energy techniques have proven beneficial and effective in stress reduction, treatment of anxiety and phobias, trauma relief, addictions, pain management and improved performance as well as changing core beliefs that perpetuate and often lead to unhealthy behaviors. They also are being used to routinely balance the emotions. By simple tapping and the use of both acknowledging and affirmative statements, people all over the world are learning emotional self management.

Children as young as five years old can use these techniques. Imagine what the world would be like if children routinely learned how to quickly "re-boot" the parts of their brains that go on automatic shut down under stress or conflict. Consider the implications of a child being able to stabilize their emotions in just seconds, and have a tool that they can bring through their adult life. Imagine the impact on not only the physical body, but on the healthcare system as well!
